Sticking to packaged mozzarella might be an easier option during pregnancy, as you can simply check the label to figure out if it is made with pasteurized milk or not.
If you’re not sure if your mozzarella is pasteurized, a good backup plan is to enjoy it in cooked form—like on pizza or lasagna. The cooking process should kill off any harmful bacteria that might come with unpasteurized cheese.
