Yes, contacts can be worn safely during labor. Contacts offer clear vision and may be more comfortable than wearing glasses as you move about during your labor. 

Just keep in mind that the duration of labor can be unpredictable, and you’ll want to change your lenses at the usual recommended time. You might consider setting an alarm on your phone so you don’t risk dry eyes or an infection from prolonged use. 

Some types of lenses aren’t recommended for sleep, so make sure you have all of your supplies for contact lens removal packed in your hospital bag. It's a good idea to pack spare lenses as well.

Most hospitals don’t require contacts to be removed before a C-section, but it never hurts to check with your birthing facility. It’s also a good idea to bring your glasses as a backup. You don’t want anything to interfere with your ability to see the tiny human you’ve been waiting so long for!
